Syposium Title Submission

The ICDX Organizing Committee now invites potential symposia organizers (hereafter termed convenors) to submit titles for symposia to be included in the second circular and on this website. Symposia may have one or more convenors. Note that delegates must cover their own costs and this invitation to organize a symposium does not represent an offer of funding to attend.

In line with the decisions made during the planning of ICD8 and ICD9, all sessions for ICDX will be termed "symposia". This includes those symposia that are topic-based as well as taxon-based.

The scope of this Congress will support symposia dealing with all aspects of dipterology and representing all regions of the world, with no specific overall theme or focus. Dipterology is a very diverse field, and we are hopeful for a diverse array of symposia!

Responsibilities of symposia convenors

Instructions for submitting title suggestions

Submissions of symposia titles will only accepted using the simple form provided above. Please provide titles in their full form (e.g., Advances in acalyptrate systematics, Disease vectors and veterinary significance), rather than condensed titles (e.g., Acalyptrates, Disease vectors). Provide your name and email address in the spaces provided, and provide the names and addresses of co-convenors who have agreed to join you in organizing the symposium.

As symposia are received they will be posted to the Symposia page. Potential symposium convenors are asked to view the submitted symposia titles to limit overlap. Where applications for symposia overlap significantly, the Organizing Committee will reach out to symposia convenors to coordinate combining sessions.
