Preparation Guidelines
This page provides guidance for delegates in preparing their posters and oral presentations. Abstract submission is now closed.
Poster guidelines
The poster session will be in Exposition Hall A on the Wednesday and Thursday of the Congress. Following are the general guidelines:
- Posters must have dimensions of no more than 3' (91 cm) wide x 4' (121 cm) high
- You can put up your posters any time before or during lunch on Wednesday, July 19
- Posters will be set up in order by first author’s last name. There will be further guidance on site
- Supplies for mounting will be provided
- Authors should be at their posters on Wednesday from 3:30 to 5:00 PM (15:30 to 17:00) for discussion with other delegates
- Posters should remain up through Thursday, and you may take them down anytime Thursday afternoon, preferably late in the day so everyone gets a chance to see them
Oral Presentation guidelines
All oral presentations will be within symposia, general sessions, or special presentations.
- Each regular oral presentation has a 15 minute time-slot (usually 12 minutes duration, with up to 3 minutes for questions)
- A keynote speaker will lead off some symposia with a double time-slot (usually 25 minutes duration, with up to 5 minutes for questions)
- Presentations should be in Microsoft PowerPoint format
- Presentations should be loaded on the Congress computers in a timely fashion; further guidance will be provided on site during sign in, but be prepared with your presentation on a USB thumb drive
- For each symposium, the convener will be timekeeper, signalling the speaker at 10 minutes for a regular presentation, and at 23 minutes for a keynote address. This gives the speaker time to wrap up and possibly leave time for questions
- Speakers will be kept strictly within their time-slot to allow the program to proceed smoothly
