Getting to Reno

By Air

Access to Reno can be accomplished via several nearby airports, including Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO), Sacramento International Airport (SMF) (140 miles / 225 km), Oakland International Airport (OAK) (226 miles / 364 km), San Francisco International Airport (SFO) (234 miles / 377 km), San Jose International Airport (SJC) (253 miles / 407 km).

Reno-Tahoe International Airport is a secondary airport within the USA, so international delegates coming from other countries will need to enter via a major port of entry airport (in most cases clearing customs and immigration there) and take one or more connecting flights to get to RNO. Airlines that operate out of RNO are: Alaska Airlines, Allegiant, American Airlines, Delta, Frontier Airlines, jetBlue, JSX, Southwest, United and Volaris.

With RNO being located within 4 miles of the city center, there is continuous complimentary shuttle service between the hotel and RNO from 4:30am to 12:15am provided by The Row Shuttle.

By Train

Reno has a passenger train station (RNO) serving Amtrak's California Zephyr, which runs between Chicago, Illinois and Emeryville, California (and a bus continues to San Francisco, California). The stops along the line where a passenger could get on to go to Reno are in the California Zephyr brochure, with the trains from points east arriving in the morning on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and from points west arriving in the mid-afternoon on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Tickets for trains to Reno can be arranged through Amtrak. The RNO train station is approximately a 6 minute walk or a short drive to the Congress venue, the Silver Legacy Resort.

By Car

If planning to travel by car from an airport, all of the airports mentioned above have numerous rental car options. By way of example, the Reno-Tahoe International Airport provides access to nine different rental car agencies. Driving from the nearest port of entry (San Francisco International airport, SFO) to Reno will take approximately four hours.

Because the Congress venue, the Silver Legacy, has a complete Enterprise Car Rental desk located in the lobby, reservations with that company can be made using our group discount code L54H176, which provides about a 5% discount. Please call +1(775)322-4755 for reservations using the discount code.

Reno is easily accessible from I-580, I-80 and US-395 freeways. Driving directions to the Congress venue, the Silver Legacy, can found using google maps.

The Silver Legacy Resort has ample self-parking garage space, as well as valet parking.

Getting around

The Congress is being held at the Silver Legacy Resort, with all meeting activities on site. So no external travel is required.

Getting around Reno is also easy, first being a walking-friendly city. There is also public transportation (bus, taxi, Lyft/Uber) and car rental available (the Silver Legacy has an Enterprise car rental desk in the lobby - see above).

Going beyond Reno will normally require a car. Most car rentals can be rented in one location and returned to a different location. Although still in the planning stages, we anticipate some Congress tours that will provide transportation.
