North American Dipterists Society

Welcome to the homepage of the North American Dipterists Society!

Our Mission is to advance the scientific study, understanding and appreciation of the insect order Diptera, or true flies. To accomplish this, we aim to foster communication, cooperation and collaboration among dipterists, and to promote the dissemination and exchange of scientific and popular knowledge concerning dipterology.

As an international society for the worldwide community of dipterists, we are incorporated in California, USA, and registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Among our core activities are:

1. Production of Society publications
2. Maintaining this organization web presence and social media
3. Organization of Society and other Diptera-related meetings
4. Providing grants and awards in support of dipterological activities and achievements
5. Performing outreach activities and providing educational resources
